Q. How is the propagation of light taking place an optical fibre ?
:- When light enters at one end of the fibre under required condition, most of light will propagate or move down the length of fibre and exit from the far end whereas a small part of light will be absorbed or scattered by the cladding. Light enters one end of the fibre at a sight angle to the axis. As it encounters at surface with a different refractive index, it suffers total internal reflection and gets propagated to emerge out of the fibre.
